MARU japanese restaurant in Ljubljana

After work and before the game I went to this restaurant (MARU – meaning circle) to try it as I heard some good reviews. I arrived in early afternoon and it was quite empty so I could chose nice table. Interior was nice but location is far form city center in unremarkable building.

I ordered miso soup (4.5 €), mix of sushi: maki (8.6 €), nigri (tuna Toro 10 €, kapesante 7.6 €) and sashimi (salmon, tuna, shrimp, 19 €) and some warm Karatamba sake in cup I chose (7.5€ 1.2dl). After I ate soup I went to nice balcony for a cigarette. Now it was time to enjoy rest of the food, sashimi was presented interestingly. Before I left I finished with Matsui single malt Mizunara Cask whisky, more on the light side, 12 €. I liked food – comperable to Sushimama, it was similar high price (71 €), but that comes with cousine and quality of food and service.
