Jasna Resort Dinner in Alpine Igloo
Sister was staying in Kranjska Gora for a week and on the last day, our mother had a birthday on the 8th of March. So she made reservations at Jasna Resort, a dinner in Alpine Igloo. So after work, I went to the flower shop. The first was out of business after 25 years and the second was almost out of all flowers. I had to settle with what they got. With a taxi, I went home. I had a quick snack there and picked up my mother with my sister’s dog Taček/Paw.
Of course, we had to turn back once. On the road, we had some traffic. In Kranjska Gora we took a short walk, Paw had problems with his paw. We had still more time so we drove to Planica. Finally, we were at Lake Jasna, making a circle there. It started to snow and we went inside for a drink until my sister arrived with family from the Italian ski slope at Monte Lussari.
Now it was some for dinner. We settled in one of the plexiglass domes. Comfy, heated, has nice lighting, snowing outside. The Hors d’oeuvre was profiterole filled with goat cream cheese, tasty, pastry maybe a little dry.
The cold appetizer was beef cutlet on homemade toasted focaccia with aioli sauce and mustard seeds. I liked this one a lot.
We continued with a hot appetizer: ravioli filled with albumen curd in butter sauce, rosemary, and walnuts. This was a favorite for most of the others.
The main course was chicken thigh roll on roasted cauliflower puree and forest mushroom mix. This one was tasty as well but too big a portion. I had a Malvazija white wine with this.
Dessert was apple pie with butterscotch cream, a winter feeling with cinnamon and snowing outside. Some chose pancakes or Kremšnita.
We spent here 320 € with tips, and the menu itself was 46 € per person. In general, nice family time, interesting surroundings, and good service. It was time for a night drive home in snow/rain. On arrival, I moved to Petkovšek to celebrate Miha’s firstborn.
