Pri (šoferski) mamici – At driver’s mother inn

With colleagues we went to see the cup final match between Koper and Bravo. On the way to Celje, we stoped after a half-hour drive at Pri (šoferski mamici) inn in Ločica – Vransko (exit from the highway at Trojane). We have already heard several recommendations for this place.

There is no crowd there at 6 PM in the middle of the week. For an aperitif, I ordered a local William schnapps, which was nicely served.

They have a wide selection of dishes on the menu, but I opted for Ivanka’s house trout, because this is a traditional dish for them, they have fish in the pool next to the inn. So the fish is really fresh. Baked polenta and young spinach are usually served next to it, but this time there are sliced butter potatoes, which were slightly hard. You can’t go wrong with lemon and Trieste sauce on the side. The fish (2.5 € is 100g) was delicious and well baked (probably rolled in flour before baking).

No one was hungry, but colleagues have praised the dessert so much that we took one together; chocolate, strawberries and ice cream is a good combination. I don’t know how much it all cost because Andrej paid. Before we moved on, Borut joined us and they were on their way to the Z dežele stadium.
