Amsterdam
I tried to collect overtime during the week so I could leave work at 2 PM. I had my luggage with me so Gregor picked me up by taxi (30 €) and we were on our way to Brnik airport, enjoying some nice beers. While we did online check-in and had just hand luggage we skipped drop-off and had just a security check.
At the Duty shop, we bought medica/mead 17 € and Evian water 3 €. The flight was delayed a bit. We traveled with Transavia, 58 € I paid a few months before, 98 € paid Gregor a few days before, for a return ticket to Amsterdam. The flight lasted almost 2 hours (15:50-17:40). On the plane, small Heineken was 4 €.
On arrival, we took the train 5.3 € to Central station, around 20 min. Amsterdam was really windy and cold, canals were frozen and people could skate, that was the last time possible in 2012. On way to Durty Nelly’s Irish bar and the hostel, we stopped on way for Kwak 5 €. The hostel was 18 € for bunk bed with locker under it in a 6-bed dorm, the bathroom was en-suite but humid. We shared a room with two Indians. Starting downstairs we continued to dinner, beer, jager, the steak was 85 €. We moved around a few pubs; 15 €. After some time we lost each other, I hanged out with some locals and found Gregor later at the hostel. While we were quite tired we went to bed around 1 AM …
