Athens-Singapore

After a not-good sleep, I went to a nearby hotel for breakfast (kavurma, egg, bread, juice, coffee) which was included in the price. From there I walked to the Acropolis (46 € ticket for 6 sights), passing the Arch of Hadrian. I started from the south-east side and went uphill, on my way where Thater of Dionysius, Stoa, Odeon of Herodes, passed Athen Nike temple, through Propylaea to the top of the hill with Parthenon, old Athena temple, and other monuments.

I descended down and passed the Holy Church of Hosios Athanasios with Sunday mass, went by park, and continued to Agora with Hephaestus temple and Stoa of Attlos. Next was Hadrian’s library and Monastiriki Square. On Syntagma Square crowd with a changing of guard, walked over National Garden to Aristotle’s Lyceum. On my way back to the hotel I stopped at Panathinaikos Stadium and Zappeion Hall.

After a shower, I checked out late. It was another walk to Syntagma station. There I ate in a tourist restaurant, souvlaki with a tip 35 €. I went by metro to the airport. I was afraid that I did not have enough time, 1.5 hours. But when I entered the Terminal I saw there was a half an hour delay. For check-in I waited quite a while, many Chinese pensioners were weighing their bags.

Soon I boarded a plane to Singapore. I was flying for the first time with Scoot. On the Boeing 787 (electronic shades) I just had enough space on an aisle seat. On this low-cost flight, you had to pay for everything even electricity to charge your phone. I had good company besides me, German and Argentinian Australian. When taking off there was some turbulence. Tried to get some sleep, but no luck, order 2 glasses of wine at 18 SGD, and no change. I ate a homemade sandwich, a cake from Athens apartment, some seeds.
