Venice-Madrid-Panama City
The night before the trip I arrived home at 11 PM. I packed my stuff and dozed watching Bored to death. At 2:30 there was a call from Andreja. I had something to eat before girls picked me up at 3 AM and we were soon on the highway to Italy. Vesna was driving. On our way to Marco Polo airport, we had two short stops. It was raining all the way, we escaped snow just by a few hours. We searched a bit for a parking lot. We got a discount on the price, we paid just 57 € for 17 days at ParkVia. From the parking, a shuttle drove us to the airport. We departed with Andreja, while she flew over Paris with Air France while me and Vesna with Iberia over Madrid. There was a long queue at check-in (should do it online), security check, and boarding as usual. Flight to Madrid with Iberia lasted 2:40, return tickets for all flights were 554 €.
On the flight, I treated myself with a homemade sandwich and beer 3.5 €. The best part was a nice view of Madrid’s surroundings while landing. At Madrid airport, no smoking is allowed. We transferred by train to another terminal.
The second flight of almost 11 hours was a challenge. I watched some movies and had a few beers, service was not good compering to Turkish or Qatar Airlines, small things like quality of blanket … I had almost no sleep. At Panama City airport it was crowded. After the baggage claim, I changed to some lighter clothes.
While we waited for Andreja we had few beers 15 $. At the exit, Vesna was waiting for Andreja with a sign.
Again no smoking on the airport allowed, so I had walked far out for a cigarette. After almost a day I felt a bit dizzy. We moved to the city with a taxi, 30 $. We went straight to the hotel Casa Nuratti. The cost was 126 $ pax 3 (Andreja got this, points).
It was located in the old part of town (Casco Viejo). The room was nice, with a balcony but with a bathroom without doors. Elevator there had his own logic but we finally made it to famous rooftop bar Gatto Blanco.
It was nice, some breeze blowing, mellow music, beer 40 $, tip included – 2x bucket with 6x small beers. After they closed we moved to another bar 18 $ for the round, we were overcharged. We were in bed at around 4 AM.
