Restaurant Srnjak

After a tiering night, we talked with Danijela and decided to go on a trip to Gorenjska. We drove to Kranjska Gora and there the decision is made to cool off by Lake Jasna. We soon abandon this idea because we wasted half an hour in search of free parking. Eventually we parked somewhere and found an endless crowd by the lake. We had enough of this and headed back to Kranjska Gora. We started thinking about food and Danijela suggested the Srnjak restaurant.

We set off across the Sava Dolinka and the macadam path was uphill. After a kilometer and a half we reached the inn Srnjak. It could also be reached on foot from Kranjska gora in half an hour. The inn is located in a former caravan, which is a kind of log cabin. We look for a place in the shade where we sat. Owner Fredi, had a problem to walk because of the stroke. But he still tries to be fast and kind enough. I ordered venison goulash. The food is quite tasty. The portions are not too big, but with a sick stomach, I need time to ate all. After the meal, we moved to deckchairs in the shade to sleep. The innkeeper convinced us to take another blueberry strudel. We staied there for more than 3 hours and bill was € 50 with a tip.

The view of the valley is ideal. Sitting under the parasols on a deck chair is an added plus. The owner struggles with the service, but maybe a little too intrusive at times. The food is delicious and the portions are not large. The biggest minus is the prices, where for a location that is not the center of the metropolis, they charge a little too much. Many guests complained about the additional cost of supplements (lemon or honey with tea, bread with food, ice cream and cream with strudel) …
