Paris – Belgium 1.7-9.7. 2014
At my job at the time, things were not great and I was a bit under the weather. I was at home looking at what is a possible flight from nearby aeroports and found Ryanair flights from/to Trieste. Bought a combination of onward flight to Paris and return one from Brussels (open-jaw flight). Asked a friend in Paris if I can crash for a few days, wrote notification to the boss and it was all settled.

Summary
Complete cost (tickets, transport, sleeping, eating, …) of this trip was 400 €. Mainly because friends hosted me and flights were really cheap. Made 4000 km, almost 2000 km with 2 flights, 250 km with shuttle to from Trieste, on bus 650 km from/to airports and to Gent, on train 400 km in Paris and Belgium, a lot of km on the metro and also at least 100 km walking around.
In the end, would like to say a few things. First, I would like to thank all of my hosts, Sylvia and Nicolas, Katja, Maarten, Matjaž. Hope I was not too much of a burden, because you helped me have a really low budget for this trip. It meant a LOT of walking. But I saw nice things, met nice people, moved around different places, had some local insight. Shortly said, it was my kind of trip. Hopefully, it will became a reoccurring thing.
