Lecce-Matera-Alberobello 2024

Another long night on train, I slept a little in 15 minutes long periods. After we arrived in the morning, I streached and had a caffe 1.2 €. I took a short walk in oldtown, sat in park passed castle and returned to station where I rented a car for a day, Citroen C3, 50€.

First I drove to Matera (4h). I went to highway but there was traffic jam and I took first exit and went on over regional roads. I entered midpoint in GPS to Manduria and I ended in small narrow roads there. I wanted to stop shortly in Tantro but there was osme events and roadblocks so I moved on.. Finally I parked at Matera in garage 1.5 €. Before I went into the old rocky town I had another caffe 1.2 €. Here you can enjoy walking olf narrow streets. After 2 hours it was time to move on.

Now it was time to visit Arbelobello (2h). I paid parking by mistake for whole day, 6€. I was there late in a day so I stayed until sunset. Here you can see interesting round, stone houses. I was getting sleepy so it was time for another caffe 1.2€. I bought some painkillers for my back at pharmacy. This town is interesting, but overcrowded, mainly local tourists.

Last ride for that day was to Lecce, 2.5h. I arrived to my accomodation, single room with shared bathroom and kitchen. DIMORA DELL’ARTISTA 2 was a nice and celan place, breakfast included 40 €. I took shower and went out for dinner, bresaola pizza and beer, 22€. When I returned to room it was time for some planning.
