Trubar’s mother Inn

Trubar’s mother Inn is another in a series of inns within the Kaval group of restaurants. It is located inside the Gospodarski razstavišče in the pavilion known as Jurček. On the ground floor is the Pavilion – a cafe, bright and spacious, and in the basement is an inn clad in wood. However, lunches are served in both. Boštjan and I are having lunch and we are getting together for 12 hours.

It offers a wide range of dishes. The permanent offer includes cold cuts, fried dishes (chicken, Viennese), pasta, a set of pizzas and desserts. Also, the daily lunch menu gives a wide choice: daily soup, kaval dessert, salad, spoon dish, risotto or pasta, main course, meat or fish plate, salad plate, pizza.

I decide on pizza at Boštjan’s suggestion. Amigo pizza is a version of Mexican pizza; colorful, with paprika, corn, kulen, nacho cheese, mushrooms. I was pleased with my choice of pizza prepared good enough for a place that doesn’t specialize only in pizzas. The pizza is not huge, but for 7 € bigger than I expected. Boštjan is also satisfied with his fish. When we sit down at the table they automatically served us a bottle of water. In short, they will see me here again.
