Swiss/Liechtenstein 19-21.8.2011
I was in need of travel after one year, so I sought a quick option. Tone was on holiday and he was doing circle Italy, France, Swiss and Austria. I decided to join him from Zurich back to Ljubljana.

I left with the night train at 21:10 to Zurich, Swiss. So for next 12 hours I had to fill my time. Good I had crosswords with me. Homemade sandwiches were there for hunger. Also, I had nice companions on the train so we could talk. In the end, I slept a bit.

The next morning I was at Zurich train station around 9:20. I had to spend one hour at the station before Tone arrived, bought postcards there 3 €.
After we met we walked around town.
There are nice medieval buildings.
We went to McDonald’s, 27 € for two menus. A river flows from the lake and it was full of people swimming with inflatable yellow ducks.
We found out this is a traditional event Limmatschwimmen. When I found out about it I wanted to try it, but it took time to change and find a spot to enter. So it was too late 🙁
Pasta was 20 €. I bought some souvenirs for 15 €. In the afternoon we moved to camp on Walensee. It was less than an hour ride. After we put up a tent and finished with the bathroom we sat for a beer (5 € x 4).

After average sleep in a tent, we had coffee/juice 8. I got wet in the lake and after I changed we put away the tent.
It was time to leave for Liechtenstein. Another 45-minute drive. After crossing Ren river we entered into Liechtenstein.
In Vaduz, we parked the ca and went around.
It was a nice medieval town, with a castle on the hill.
We sat and enjoyed coffee/juice, 10 €. But there were a lot of cranes and new buildings.
We went to the museum. In the shop, we spent 30 €. Now it was time for a long drive home. We chose to go over Innsbruck and smaller roads. In the evening we arrived home.
Transport
One way it was with the train (89 €, if bought earlier it would be 29 €). Car was on return (vignette for CH and AT was 45 (36+9) €, tunnels were 25 (3x) €, parking in Zurich was 25 €, gas 70 €, sum 165 € for both). For this kind of money, I could fly. But the purpose was to be on the road and I decided on it spontaneously so the cost was higher.
Sleeping
On the way there I slept on seat in train. As we were going back, we slept in tent (35 € camp).
The overall impression is beautiful and expensive. Nature is reminiscent of Slovenia, the Alps, lakes, pastures. Maybe everything is a little bigger. The cities are beautiful, medieval, tidy. The prices are quite high for us, whatever you paid was 20 €, 4x beer in the kiosk in the camp, Mc, … If possible, I would definitely go there again. Maybe in the winter time.
