Santa Clara-Trinidad

After arriving in Santa Clara at midnight we couldn’t find any casa particular so we searched for a hotel. After unpacking we went out for a cigarette and locals came to sell us whatever. They would offer drinks, cigars, girls. They were even tried to change stuff for our T-shirt.

The next morning we walked around and in the suburbs, there was housing in bad shape. From there we moved to Che Guevara Mausoleum. The site was interesting, dominated with his bronze statue.

They were preparing it for some celebration. Some people were cutting grass with a machete.

Afterward, we moved to Trinidad with another Viazul bus, again around 3 hours, 6 CUC. On arrival casa particular owners were waiting for us at the bus station with Klemen’s name, but we chose others.

Trinidad is a nice colonial town with cobbled streets and small houses with colorful facades. Time is running slower there. I would suggest this place to everyone. We walked around and finished in a bar with an old drummer. Klemen helped him on stage.
