NY ćevapi & Sladica

For more than 10 years now we have a tradition of visiting Sarajevo ’84 restaurant in the week before NYE. So this year, we were there again (Andreja, Katka, Rok, Ana, Romana). I took a taxi and the last part I walked because it was crowded in the city. We enjoyed in their food and drinks (150€) for a few hours before leaving by taxi to Cvetličarna.

Next was the Sladica event. This event started in 2000 as a radio show and transferred to a live event in 2005 organized by Dj Zeds aka Zvezdan Simič. If you like soul, R&B, hip-hop, and funk this is a place where you should be. You have live music and DJs and the party lasts for 7 hours. Bend (bass– Jani Hace (Siddharta), guitar– Tadej Košir (Muff, Senidah), drums – Ivo Rimc (Leelojamais), percussions – Martin Janežič Buco (Hamo & Tribute to Love), trumpet – Tomaž Gajšt (BigBand – RtvSlo), saxophone – Bojan Zupančič (Vip Band, XQTFZ), keys – Erik Marenče, trombone – Bojan Gantar) and back vocalists (Sandra Fektija, Katja Sever – Kržič, Klara Klasinc) are standard as are main singers (Urban Lutma – Batista Cadilac, Freekind., Marina Martensson, Marko Louis, Hannah Mancini, Lara & Sky, Stalker & Ghet, Fidži, Maya, Jani). DJS before and after the concert Dj Zeds, K’Pow & Bayo.

But this year we came to hear Fidži (best pizza chef among singers and best singers among pizza chefs). We arrived just as he started to sing a cover of Oliver Mandić. Evening slowly developed. I arrived there with Rok, Andreja and Katka, but I met numerous people (Nina, Fidži, Zala, Igor with a girlfriend, Damir, Greg, Justi, Rok, Peter, and one more Rok …).

But in the early hours, there were fewer and fewer people, so I joined one group to share a taxi to 12ka. I knew that was a mistake before I entered this taxi. In this club, you have Balkan music and guys that look tough. I left when it was already day, I arrived by taxi around 8 AM. I spent a hefty amount of money but in general, I had a great time with close friends, met people I don’t see often and enjoyed a concert. I hope we will repeat it next year.
