Milano vs Torino 3:2
Legendary stadium San Siro is going to be rebuilt and I was there just on concert. So I bought tickets for match AC Milan vs Torino. While I waited others to RSVP, most tickets were sold out and I got one on top level in the corner for 24€. I planed to use FIP cupons for train.
On Friday I packed bag in the morning, ate breakfast with mother and sister took me to work. I left work early and took Nomago bus to Nova Gorica, 10€. Again crowded with students, smal space, spoke with one pensioner. From Nova Gorica bus station I walked to Gorizia train station. On my way I stopped at Bombino tunnel gallery DAG, free entrance, interesting, a bit psihadelic.
While I waited train I ate one home made sandwich and had a cigarette (6.8€). First train was short ride to Monfalcone, 20 minutes. After another 20 minutes of waiting ther another train to Brescia, freccarossa, ticket 35€ on train. For first night I took nice 5* hotel Vittoria, 114€, short walk from station.
Hotel was on great location, but in need of renovation, bathroom was OK, good staff, nice teracce. I woke after few hours and walked at 4am around empty squares and then returned back to bed.
Next morning I didn’t go out early. Before leaving hotel I visited rooftop teracce, otherwise closed at this time (got key at reception).
Now I walked around Brescia, first visiting main squares (Piazza Paolo VI, Vittoria, Loggia, Amaldo).
Brescia has UNESCO heritage, so I went and visited main museums (tickets 15€ for 4 museums + 4€ for roman ruins-booked). First was in ex-monastery on big area and showing artefacts from different eras
Then I visited ruins from ancient Rome, here you need reservation to enter, limited number of people (constant humidity and pressure). roman theater was closed
From there I went up hill to castle, there you have beautiful views of city and museum of armory and Lioness of Brescia (independance of Italy)
Before moving to train station I stoppedin at gallery Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo.
After 5 hours walk I took train to Milan, almost 2 hours. Close to station I left my bag and took metro to Duomo, short walk, buy some souveniers (olympics, 8€).
With next metro I moved to San Siro stadium. Beer was 5 to 8€ around stadium. I bought fan shal before entering. At gates there was big crowd. In the end we run up to 3 level and goti in time for the begining of the game. Didn’t went to seat but stand on level below, talked to local fan. Game was intense, finished 3:2. Guest team started better but AC Milan was in lead. Before halftime it was equalized. Two goals were scored in short time at the begining of second half by Milan for comfortable lead. Towards end penalty for Torino after VAR decision that was converted into final result. After game I met some dutch people …
While main plan was sleeping in Lugano and returning on Sunday over Swiss that plan fell through as that train wasn’t available. In the morning I picked my bag, ate at Mc and decided to move same way home. I missed a train at station while I went to wrong platform first. Next trains (to Venice and to Gorizia, homemade burek) were late for me to catch bus in Slovenia. Tried with prevozi.org, in the end sister picked me up in Nova Gorica.
