Kotor Varoš and Novo mesto

Kotor Varoš

Mother wished to visit Kotor Varoš so I took here there. We went on the road at 2 am on Saturday after almost no sleep. In Ljubljana we stopped at gas station, 60 €. As soon as we got out of city it started to rain heavy. Driving through rain in the night wasn’t fun, max speed was 100km/h. At border with Croatia there was long que so we crossed border at Slovenska vas (skipped 1 € toll and standing in line). Raining in Croatia (7€ toll). At border with Bosnia in gradiška we lost 1 hour. It was light and rain stopped (toll 2 €). Around 8 am we arrived to grandparents hous. On our way I bought local SIM card 5€.

There were already aunt and cousin. After unpacking we sat for a coffe. It was time to move some furniture, some neghbours helped. I tried to sleep a bit, but no luck, at least I strached my back. Now it was time for lunch, some veal and rice. Now we moved to garden, again some work there. I went to gas station to buy gas cylinder, but no luck and car challenge. Neghbour lent his cylinder so we could have barbaque. Nice chat while eating ćevapi and cake while drinking Nektar pivo and rakija. Late in the evening rain chased us to house and we went soon to bed.

Next morning I woke up early and after shower breakfast it was time to get on the road again, araound 8 am. Went to Jasenovac border crossing but still lost there one hour. Again went to gas station (60 €). Rain was back again. Around Zagreb I stuck in traffic jam. smae was at toll booth (7 €). Rain stopped in slovenia close to Novo mesto, so I decided to stop, stretch legs and eat something.

Novo mesto

I parked for free close to bridge Kandija. Crossing the bridge took me to Main square (Glavni trg). I turned left to visit Francis monastery.

Back to the square with many interesting buildings with arcades, most interesting is town hall

From there I countined north into small streets and at Conty court turn back toward old town. Went uphill to st Nicolas church.

Now down hil through some more interesting streets and I finished my rout back at Kandija bridge

It was time to eat something, chose Gostilna na trgu, not best choice.
