Doha

We landed at 6 am in Doha. I changed there money, bad rate. I bought daily metro ticket 6 QAR.

From there I moved to Oryx Rotana 5 star hotel, 170 QAR. Receptionist was from Tunisia, we talked about his country and he gave me room with better view.

After shower I moved to sauna and pool where I was alone. Back in room I rested a bit, had coffe and got ready to visit city.

It was hot outside. I bought ticket for museums in city. First I went to national museum. Building is unique, there you can find artifacts from animal world, history of country, …

Next was museum of islamic art. Walking 1 km in hot sun was no joy. Again interesting building, reminiscence of mosque. There was interesting artfacts from silk, carpets, weapons. But I liked silk made by spiders from Madagascar.

Walked around in Souq Waqif, shops were just opening. Bought water from vending machine, 1 QAR. I found a barber shop, where Indian guy shaved me for 15 QAR.

With metro I moved then to Museum of modern art. I was searching a bit and walking among ugly buildings. At museum found some interesting installations. I moved on even there was some kind of event there.

Again some walking to campus. There is interesting library, mosque and park were I sat for coca cola 5 QAR.

Quick stop at Corniche beachfront before moving to Villaggio mall, with canals like in Venice.

I bought there T-shirt for 60 QAR. I ate pasta and fried chiken plus coca cola, 16 QAR. girl stole chair from me?

It was time to return to hotel, used 2x metro. There I showered packed and went for a beer 60 QAR where they had live music.

Finally I was back at airport. Changing currancies with bad rate. Qatar airlines flight with Airbus 320 to Vienna was OK. We got to meals, I drunk beer and gin tonic. Display didn’t work so they moved me to another seat, better, empty seat on side, no kicking from back. Tried to get some sleep.
