Central Asia day #11-Tashkent
Good sleep, it is raining outside. Boštjan went out, and I stayed in. One hour later we went to breakfast in the hostel, a nice one, homemade pastry. Slowly packing, checked out after the rain stopped.
On our way to the metro and shopping, 77k UZS-5.5 €. We arrived at the train station. Now it was time for a 17-hour train ride to Almaty, 58 €.
The boarding procedure was complex, followed by a slow drive to the border close by, then border police on one side then on other, all together lasted a few hours.
We prepared our beds and onwards with a more than half-day ride. Two women shared a compartment with us, young and old with a big suitcase, no English was spoken.
View outside similar to Mongolia, steppa. Now it was time to rest and eat the snacks we brought. A restaurant accepts only cash, tenge. Possible exchange with 25 % markup.
Some more rest. Quick smoke on a few of stops on our way. It got cold during the night.
