At Castle festival 2024

On Friday after work I went home, I lied down because of headache and soon fall aleep for 2 hours. When I woke up I said I will not stay at home over weekend. Checked online what is going on this weekend. Half an hour later I was in a car with ticket (56 € 4 days, cheaper then 2 daily tickets I needed) for Castle festival packing just basic things. This is 6th edition of this festival. It is locateed close to Kostel castle in village Fara on the river Kolpa. It is 3rd festival on this river (Kolpa fest and Shengen fest are defunct). On way there I stopped at gas station. On regional road I needed around 90 minutes for 90 km.

Friday

I parked car and went to entrance as I was changing ticket for braclet Rado came by with his girlfriend. Next was plastic card with prepaid amount for food and drinks. We entered as Tabu was already on stage. Singer had good vibe, songs were familiar. Beer was 4.2 € (draft Union, 0.5l). But deposit for cup (also can, and plastic bottles) was 1.5 €. I lost on those 15 €.

Next was Magnifico with his carisma. For me and Rado song Silvija brought back memories of studing back in a day when this was our anthem.

Big foot mama was another band with long carier in Slovenia, this was more of my high school time. Tina was also here.

Rado left soon after. Baby lasagna is something new for me and didn’t catch my attention. It all finished with Pero Lovšin that started his career year I was born. Late at night I returned to car.

Saturday

After not to great sleep I woke up, went to toilet, ate tuna can. I could get to the river outside camp, but I found spaceunder one tree and relaxed.

Shadow was not 100% and I got some sun burns. I was again back at festival. I ate hamburger 11 € and fries 5 €.

First on stage were Kloni, hard rock music, but at 6 pm it was too early, maybe some 20 people below stage.

Gušti came next on stage, he was disapointed by just maybe 200 people when he was leaving stage. He played many songs he wrote for Big foot mama. some female vocal guests, Deklava on guitare.

Kokosy conected with few thousand fans that came to hear them. Again something new I don’t understand. Vlado Kresiln joined them for one song.

Hamo and Tribute 2 love had a bit less people. Dekleva was back with his band. Met Varja and Marko.

Vlado Kreslin probably had biggest crowd, young and old came for his performance. Some local drunk guy explained his life story. Kokosy joined Vlado for one song, returned favour. Klemen with crew stayed outside

Prljavo kazalište is also popular among slovenian crowd. They had good show inspite years behind them. Mladenko as frontmen on most song, on few Jasenko. Some youngsters had chat with me.

Šank Rock was final act on festival. They had good energy. It was all over at 2:30 am. Somebody gave me beer on exit. I walked back to the car

Sunday

I woke up, ate tuna can and after just few hours of sleep drove back home.

It was typical music festival in Slovenia. Most of performers were local bends and few from ex-Yugoslavia. Organization was average, separation of two stages and drinks were bit confusing. Spot by river was great, but river bank was to crowded. Tickets were not to expensive (30 for a day, 56 for whole festival). Prices of drinks and food was a bit high, 4.2+1.5€ for beer, 11 € burger, 5 € fries, 13 € pad thai, … Crowd of some 10.000 people. Young bodies, drunk, sun burnt, moving in rythem of music. But there were also some old fart from my generation or oolder.
