Senegal is located in West Africa, bordered by Mauritania to the north, Mali to the east, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It also surrounds The Gambia. Senegal covers approx. 200k square km. Population is estimated to 19 MIO.

Senegalese cuisine is a delightful mix of flavors: Thiéboudienne (rice and fish with some vegies), Yassa (chicken/fish, onions and lemon juice), Mafé (peanut-based stew, meat and vegetables), Bouye( drink from the fruit of the baobab), you dirnk bottled water, also beer can be found.
Transportation: Roads (big network ,not good condition), Taxis (fares should be negotiated), Buses and Car Rapides (in cities), Railways (limited).
Currency: West African CFA Franc (XOF), used by several West African countries, in early 2025 1 €=670 XOF.
Visas: Many countries’ citizens (also EU) can enter Senegal without a visa for up to 90 days. For others, an e-Visa can be obtained online.
Power Outlets: sockets of types C, D, E, and K, voltage is 230 V, frequency 50 Hz.
