London to Nassau
From Victoria coach station back to Heathrow airport (8GBP – 9€) lasted around 1 hour. I arrived early and wanted to use credit card for lounge, but something was not register OK and I had to wait in Terminal. In that time I spoke to Andrej and Rony. Another flight with British airways on Boeing 777 (cca 7000km, 9.5 hours). I had aisle seat 35H, nobody behind so I could lean back. Also seat next to me was empty. So I hoped to get some sleep on flight as I was awake already 32 hours. But I wasn’t that lucky. I was woken every 15 minutes by runing children, food or neghbour that weent to toilet. Tried to watch a movie. Service in general was OK.
After landing to Nassau airport there was big line at document check. You need to fill Disembarkation/Embarkation Card, not enough pens, name of hostel problem, online option for download. Enabled Airalo eSIM (Caribbean, 2 week, 5 GB, 28€). Next was bus to Nassau. There is non at the Terminal. You need to walk out of airport and turn left. I waited on side of road toward west were Nassau is. But I was picked bus on other side where there was no obvious station. It goes inland to east and back to west by the beach. You wave to minu bus for 15-20 people, #12. On bus are just locals. There is no space for big luggage. On one stop tourist, couple didn’t want to get on bus? Ticket is 2.5 Bahamian dolars (equal to 2.5 USD). I gave him 5 USD, because driver waived me form other side waited for me to cross. It is not on schedule, aprox need an hour and there is one each 45 minuts until is dark. Some parts of the road were with havy traffic.
Finally, I was in Nassau. Last bus stop is in Downtown. As folks from cruise ship were of many things were already emoty/closed. I visited Straw market, parliament square, before I moved inland. Now I visited Queen’s staircase (66 steps). One lady help me find my way. On my way to hostel I crossed some dogy part of town. I stopped in liquor stoe and bought one beer, 3usd. In HumesHouse hostel you have self checkin (39€ per night). After shower I spoke to a Russian guy, washed some clothes, had a cigarette, drank tap water and went to bed around 8pm.
When I woke up I was completly confused what date and time was. I needed few minutes to straighten it out. I moved to common room and slept on couch as bunk bed was to short for me.
