Meat point restaurant in Ljubljana
On Friday, I left the office early. I walked to Meat Point at Ciril-metodov trg 16 in the old town. Two years ago, there was Tunaholic, a Croatian franchise specializing in fish that failed. As this place is in the main tourist zone, it is usually labeled as a tourist trap with high prices, bograč almost 20€. Here you can get breakfast, brunch, soup, salad, burger, pasta, fish, and traditional meals, but you will choose this place for the meat, as it is expressed in their name.

I entered a full restaurant. Many Croatian schoolkids were there, probably on a school trip. I find a table for one close to the entrance, a cold spot, and a rocky chair. I waited a bit for a service by an elderly waiter and ordered a dark ale Veles by Kajtimar, nothing special (5.9€).

My meal was New Zealand lamb chops served with onion rings and cabbage, 30€. The meat was crisp on the outside, but tender and juicy on the inside, prepared in the Kopa charcoal grill/oven. Potrion was above expected, 6 pieces of chops!!! So I didn’t need bread. Salad was refreshing, onions were ok.

I got some homemade cookies for free when I finished, nice touch. I paid almost 40€ with a tip. It’s pricey because of the location, but if you are into lamb, I would suggest this meal.
