Ljubljana to Vienna to Istanbul

After the concert, I had a few hours to pack before leaving on this trip at 2 a.m. My sister drove me to the main bus station. We waited in the car for Flixbus (30€); it was late. We drove in the rain to Vienna, no sleep. We stopped at a gas station, at the long border control, and in Graz. I ate one of my homemade sandwiches.

Five hours later, we were in the city, there was a traffic jam, one accident. We arrived half an hour late. From the station, I moved to Mitte train station by train, 2.4€. The next train to the airport was a direct train, CAT for 15€ in 16 minutes, we had a short delay.

I had 2 hours at the airport before the flight to Istanbul with Turkish airlines (10:40-14:05). I paid 760 € for tickets Vienna-Istanbul-Singapore and back Hanoi-Istanbul-Vienna. After passing security, I had time to relax, a beer (5€), and a cigarette for the beginning of the trip.

First flight was full, A350-900, seat by window, good enough leg space, omelet, beer, and movie.

At Istanbul airport some gate mess, beer 17€, didn’t buy! I had enough time to get to the gate, rest, and smoke a cigarette before the next 10-hour-long flight (16:45-7:35), A350-900. Again, I got a window seat, again a full airplane, leg space ok, but a big guy sat next to me, and in the front seat person leaned completely back. We got Lacoste amenities (socks, earplugs, eye cover, sleepers), 2 meals (dinner with meat and breakfast with omelet), a nice choice of movies, but I didn’t get much sleep.
