Since 2009, Thai food has been available in Ljubljana. Today is so popular that you can find Pad Thai in places like the brewery/beer garden Kratochwill. But here we focus on listing restaurants that specialize in Thai cuisine. Also, some background is writen here as I had the chance to see it.

Roza slon (2009/2016)
This is the successor restaurant to Tha Inn. And today it has the longest tradition, and all of the restaurants that serve just Thai food today have some kind of connection with them (worked here, learned to cook, to manage a restaurant, ….). Today, in Ljubljana, Roza slon has locations in the city Center by the railway station, Bežigrad by the Mercator building, Vič on Tržaška street, BTC close to the gas station, and Odprta kuhinja on Pogačar square. Also, in Radovljica, they opened their first franchise.
The menu with recipes was prepared by a Thai chef. They try to import as many ingredients as possible from Thailand, and half of the employees are from Thailand. Their style is street food, crazy interior, … So they are authentic as one can be 8500 km away. Their most sold item is probably Pad Thai (too sweet, tomato taste), but I would suggest to you Pad Kee Mao (my experience).
On Thai (2015)
Chef E, with his wife Miji and one more partner, opened this place. Both of them were before in Thai Inn, E is also part of Roza slon. Today, they have 3 locations: Center, Rudnik, Šiška. I still go for Pad Kee Mao (my experience).
Thai Zone (2022)
Opened by Oy and Aleš. They also started in Thai Inn, moved to Kratochwill before opening their own place after COVID in Plava Laguna (my experience).
THAInita (2025)
This is last addition to Thai restaurants. Thanita was also part of Thai Inn and Roza slon crew. Today she has her place at Zelena jama (my experience).
Mentions
Thai Inn Pub (2009) – This was the first Thai restaurant in Ljubljana. And after his closing, his legacy is seen in Roza Slon and other places now operating. They had a great garden and Thursday karaoke nights.
Bangkok street (2009) – The same year, it opened as Tha Inn pub in the BTC shopping center.
Chuty’s – One of the beginners with Thai cuisine in Ljubljana (2013), but soon they changed to an Asian restaurant (gyoza, miso, udon, tempura, ramen, bao, satay). Today they have 10 locations, 7 of which are in Ljubljana (my experience)
Let’s Wok – This one is not connected to Roza slon, doesn’t serve Pad Kee Mao, but they serve Japanese Udon noodles (my experience).
Some other Asian restaurants with Thai dishes: Shambala (2009, high end, great red curry, my experience), Da Bu Da (2016, my experience), Osha (2017, my experience), Rikša (2022, my experience), Babu’s (2022, my experience), Tasty corner (closed, also opened by ex employees in Roza slon, my experience), Thai Club (only delivery), MomenThai (only delivery)
