Here, you find ingredients like corn, beans, chilies, tomatoes, and avocados in dishes like tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, tamales, salsa, and mole … Usually, restaurants here serve Tex-Mex meals. For the last 3 decades, we have also places in Ljubljana with this cuisine, from restaurants to street food options. Most of them are in the city center, and a few are in shopping malls. Joe Peña’s
This place has been open since 1998 on Cankarjeva cesta 6. On their menu you can find soups, burritos, enchiladas, … with chicken, beef, fish, or vegetarian options. I like to visit this place during lunch break for the daily beef option. In the evening, here you can try some of their margaritas (my experience).
Imperio Mexicano
They have two locations in shopping malls, one in BTC and one in Alea. They offer tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, … This place you visit if you are looking for lunch in a shopping center
Que Pasa
This location, close to the main bus and train station. It is popular among students because of its price-performance. Here you can find tacos, burritos, quesadillas,… I visit this place close to work ifI need quick and big meal (my experience).
Patron
Patrón was opened by Miguel Eckles Gomez in Gornji trg (Old town). On the menu, you will find tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. If I am in the same place close in the evening, tacos are a good snack option. If I walk by on my way home, a burrito is a meal option (my experience).

These venues can be found in the shopping malls BTC and Supernova. They offer taquitos, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls. Place to go for Mexican street food when in the mall (my experience).
