I was already checking his OVERDOSE D’AMORE World Tour 2026 (25 years of hit Baila-Under the Moonlight), when Andreja suggested a concert in Udine. In January I bought tickets, 110+8€. Now we had to wait for half year until the concert.

Saturday
On Saturday morning, we moved before 11am towards Italy. A lot of construction work on our way, so we picked up alternative, regional roads. First stop we made at Predjamski grad, parking was 3€. Place was crowded so we decided not to go in. Otherwise ticket is 24€?! We sat at Predjamka Inn for a drink and štrudl (11€) with view of castle.
More regional roads to Nova Gorica with nice views and cows. Ther we stopped at Europe square (separated between two countries) and had drink at Cafe Bordo, train station.
We crossed border to Gorizia, parked at Piazza della Vittoria (Neptun fotaine, st Ignacio church) and visited gallery Bombi DAG with 100meters long display showing Data Tunnel by Refik Anadol.
We drove to Cividale del Friuli (Čedad), many sunflower on our way. There we walked over Devil’s bridge, had an ice cream and stopped at Cafe San Marco in Piazza Duomo for drink and snack.
Last ride was to Al Collio Ristorante Hotel Pizzeria, 3 star hotel, 1 night 2pax, 176€. Hotel was nice, clean, 15 minutes with car from stadium. We bought tickets early but made booking late and on top of that first option cancelled last day our reservation. So last day we had to find something, there was no cheap optionds left then.
In restaurant we had pizza. I took one with bresaola. With drinks and cigarettes it was 33€, cheap and good quality. We rested a bit in room before getting ready to go to concert.
Concert
Of course we were in car late, at Bluenergy stadium (Stadio Friuli) we parked car by the road. Some confusion at entrance, but we got in before Zucchero got on stage. We missed opening act, daughter Irene Fornaciari & The Groove Aviators.
After we got a drink, 7€ beer and 2€ water (payment system with tokens), we moved to our seat under the stage where Zucchero was just 3 meters away. All tickets were for seats. We were quite in front (12 row on right side of stage). At 9 pm it was still too light. He started slowly, but by 3rd song many fans were standing and security seated them back. After one hour all stadium was standing. Neighbour was smoking so we lit cigarette as well. But than other neghbour was making fuss about it so we stood and went on side. Security wanted to send us back but left us as we were smoking.
Midway he performed Biala. After that it was easier part of concert where he sat with acoustic guitar and connected with fans. Miserere was combined with recording of Pavarotti. He took time to rest and change while band performed 3 songs. On return 4 more songs, finishing with Diavolo in me. On encore was one more song; Hey Man.
Zucchero aka Adelmo Fornaciari with 70 years still shows great energy for 2.5 hours. As “italian souls” sounds ridiculous it is music one can enjoy easily. Also his big band is assembled with great professionals. Stadium was sold out (20.000 tickets) with fans in different age groups, but most were older then us. Before moving to city center we had one more drink so crowed would disperse.
We had some navigation problems, but found a place still open, Speziaria Pei Sani. In the begining some epeople that were also at concert. Until closing time at 3am there were two of us, one girl our age, some young people (one from Ukraine) and two old waitersWe fall asleep around 4 am.
Sunday
I woke at 9am and 45 minutes later we went for breakfast. As it was late we just got some coffe, cornetto, egg, cheese and salami. We were ofcourse late for check-out, but at hotel they didn’t make fuss about it. We moved to city, parked at Giardin Grand (free during Sunday). From there we climbed steep path to castle. Nice view from the top. Now we descended to Piazza della Libertà with Loggia e Tempietto di San Giovanni and Loggia del Lionello. Sombody was playing guitar.
Now it was time for shopping, something one must endure. She bought bathing suit. Later in one shop she bought some present and I bought reading glasses as I broke one I had. We sat for drink at Caffè Al Portello before moving on.
We pourd some diesel before moving on (1l was 1.9€). We picked rout over highway towards Trieste. We went to Gostilna pri Hribu, Povir (Slovenian Carst) on rok’s suggestion. We took mixed appetizer (capesante, baclar, sardone, shrimps). for main dish it was plate with seabass, grilled squid and shrimps. On side we had fries and mixed salad. We drank Malvazija wine. After we finished meal I paid 100 € with tip. I got digestive on house.
Now it was time for last ride home on the road full of traffic.
