I saw there is a new place in Ljubljana. One day after work, I had time before the movies, and I went there. This place has the same owner as the Argentino restaurant. It is located in the old town. The interior shows Argentine motifs. The menu items are made with Argentine Black Angus (burger, sandwich, or steak). They have a few tables in front, a few inside, and a few in the garden by the river. I took a seat by the counter to see action in the kitchen.
I ordered a gaucho sandwich (20€) on the waiter’s suggestion and Tak beer (6€). First, the waiter brought me the incorrect beer, but quickly corrected it. The sandwich was soon on the counter. Nice portion. Bun-Ciabatta was crunchy, the meat was tender, with arugula and caramelized onions. Maybe the biggest surprise was the roasted pepper. Fresh fries with homemade mayonnaise. I got messy while eating my sandwich.
I was just finishing my meal and had more than half a beer left when the waiter came and asked if I could pay. It was rude and unnecessary. It put a black mark on the experience.
To summarize, food is good, prices are too high as they are all around old town, and service has room for improvement.
