As Slovenske železnice are sponsors of HK Olimpija, I got tickets for me, my nephew, and my brother-in-law on ICE league game against Salzburg (the last champion). The home team has a good season so far. After work, I went home, ate something, and it was time to go. Niece replaced nephew. We had some problems finding a parking space and later picking up tickets.
We entered Tivoli as players got on the ice (3600 people). Our seats were in the 7th row, close to the goal. Olimpija started better and got into the lead with a goal by Drozg. In the second third guest took initiative and equalized (Stephens). The home team focused, and from there on it was their show. Goalkeeper Horak was injured and replaced by Kolin. Drozg, in the end, scored a hat-trick and a pass. Meyer and Simšič rounded up the result at 5:1 (petarda).
This victory confirmed Olimpija’s participation in the knock-out stage. Referee Hribar had a farewell after being part of 1400 games on all levels. In breaks, they tried to fill time with different games. Godba SŽ also played some music.
