I woke up early, but I hadn’t rested enough. I packed for today’s tour around a few islands (111€). Outside, it was raining a bit. I walked to Paradise Island, crossing the huge Sidney Poitier bridge. As I got close to the marine, I got a message trip was delayed by 1 hour. I went to the shop, cigarettes were 18$ and cookies 2$! I was hungry so I found Wendy’s and ordered a breakfast for 9$ (wrap, fries, drink). Complicated ordering process (pay at the counter, at the van you get a meal, then back to the counter for a drink).
I arrived at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville named after a song. I ordered beer (9$) while I waited for a boat, more rain. On our boat was a group of some 20 people, mostly from a cruise ship and 5 crew members. Talked to family from NY. We first stopped at a snorkeling spot, got equipment (swimming with a life jacket?).
Nothing too exciting, some fish like sergeant, grouper, butterfly fish, and corals. We got a cup of cocktail with rum. Next stop was at Green Cay, where we saw some turtles from the boat. The last stop was at Rose Island, on a private beach. We got some food (grilled chicken, rice, salad, bread). We relaxed on the beach, I ordered a beer 7$ and rum (coconut) 4$. Before returning to the boat, we fed swimming pigs.
On return, we passed villas from MJ, Beyonce, … In the marine, I relaxed before returning to the hostel. There was an interesting crowd (Germany, USA, Italy, Poland) on the hostel’s terrace. They had some rum, so I went to the liquor store to bring some drinks from my side. Google was wrong, after a 15-minute walk, there was no shop. Some locals drove me further to a fancy liquor shop, beer was 3,25$ (27). On my long walk back, I found a barber shop, 15$. Nice chat on the terrace. In the evening, with a few people, I went to Green Parrot. I had a cocktail, tequila, and some fries (50$). We played 4 in line. We returned to the hostel, final shot. Most people went to bed. Italian returned from dinner and suggested the nightclub Cheetah lounge (20$ entrance, beer 7$, cigarettes 12$)… as we ran out of cigarettes. Nothing special there. Spent a lot of money and returned to the room around 4am.
