Went to a train restaurant for a shrimp sandwich, 150 SEK, 14€. After a short stop in Boden, we arrived in Lulea at 6:30am, -27 degrees.
Didn’t find a transfer to a dog sled, so I had to leave this out of my plans. Paid for toilet 10SEK, 1€. Went out to the bus station, missed the bus, and returned to the station for another hour. Put on long underwear.
Paid bus with app, 33 SEK, 3€, to church village (Gammelstaden, UNESCO). I got ice on my mustache. Interesting village with a central church from 15 century. At the souvenir shop spent 25€ and had a nice talk with the owner.
Back to the bus station, missed the bus, went shopping, 3.7€ paracetamol, 6€ shop (bananas, juice, chips, bread).
With the bus returned to town. Went for the Bastard burger menu and beer, 24€.
Some problems with accommodation, Citysleep, 64€, double bed, shared bathroom. I had to call them and get info for self-check-in. Finally, at 2 pm I am in.
NYE in Lapland. In the room, I had vodka, Pepsi, juice, deer meat, bread, chips, and fruit. I made a few calls back home, nice chat with people who are close.
Went out for fireworks, lasted 11 minutes, but nothing special.
Searched for a bar, almost got to a private party. Finally, I found a Taco bar still open (big berer 125 SEK, 11€) and met Vincent there. After the bar closed, we went to the Holy Cow club (beer 85 SEK, 8€), played roulette, and lost some money (45€). I returned tired to my room.
