Up after a few hours of sleep, packing, and tuna for breakfast.
Walked to the train station, train to Rovaniemi at 6am (6:02 AM-7:20 AM), coupons. Searched for a seat, toilet, and arrived in less than 1.5 hours.
Walked from the station to the tour agency. I needed less than 30 minutes, checking in, 87€. Some waiting time until they opened. With the bus, we moved to the reindeer farm.
There we got hot drink-glogi, a cookie, and an explanation about the farm and animals. Next was a ride on a sled, a short circle. In the end, we fed moss to deer.
On the way back, I got off the bus at Santa Claus village. This is ultimate tourist trap, with all-around shops, restaurants, and accommodation. I walked around. It was cold and I stepped into Santa’s place. To see him is free, but the picture costs a minimum of 50€. The line was for 2 hours.
For me, the most interesting was the Arctic Circle line that I crossed. Finally, I was taken to Appoka, where we had ice fishing. I got an extra layer of clothes before we got on the frozen lake. Some instructions, and we were already doing it. Of course, nobody caught anything as it is not the season. We got a hot drink and a snack. Also spoke with our guides. Not bad, but crowded and wrong timing.
Waited almost 1 hour for the bus to the city, my toes were numb. I almost fell asleep on this short ride. In a city without energy. Wanted to enter the shopping mall, but there was a fire.
I moved to the train station. 1 hour before departure, but got the last seat in the restaurant and no service.
Soon, it got chaotic. Time to enter train and find my reserved seat, 18€. Another overnight train, but this time not in bed.
Getting off extra layers. I had meatballs for dinner and beer, 23€. Try to sleep, got a few intervals of 10-15 minutes. Few longer stops, time for a cigarette.
