Gradisca d’Isonzo-Ostaria Mulin Vecio
After watching the match Udinese: Fiorentina, we headed home, it was raining on the way. In the Goriška region, we stopped in Gradišče ob Soči – Gradisca d’Isonzo. There we searched for a while and finally found the inn Osteria Mulin Vecio (written in Friulian). First we sat in the covered garden and smoked cigarettes there but there was still no waiter. We moved inside that is more warmly furnished.
They finally saw and served us. We ordered cold cuts and house white wine. The meat was delicious (prosciutto, mortadella, …), the bread could be better, there was also horseradish, the wine was flowing. The inn just filled up and took even longer to be served. We had nice time there. Finished with a sweet but small apple pie with pine nuts. The bill with the tip was 80 € for four (serving, cold cuts, 2x bread, 3x wine, water, 4x dessert).
To sum up, they need another waiter in order not to wait for 15 minutes. The food is delicious. The price is on the verge of being too much. However, the ambiance is nice and if the opportunity arises I recommend that you stop for a short time if you are driving nearby.
