Flight Munchen-Madrid-Havana
Days before we left there Hurricane Wilma hit Cuba pretty hard. But it was over in time before we left. Friends took us to the airport in Munich. We flew with Iberia airlines. I got upgraded to Bussines class for free, this was my only time on the other side of the curtain! Service was a bit better but I was happy for extra leg space on this 3-hour flight with some turbulence.
In Madrid airport, we ran for our next flight to Havana. After all the fuss we arrived on time but we were afraid if the luggage will arrive on time. But while we were sitting on an airplane I saw our bags being upload on. The flight was longer than 10 hours. Typical problems for a person of my hight in an economy seat.
After a long queue for immigration, we sat outside for a cigarette and reject all transfers offered. Finally, one lady drove us to Havana casa particular for 20 $. Problems between €/$ conversion. The place was nice and clean, 25$ for a twin room, breakfast and dinner included.
